Working on Gadigal lands of the Eroa Nation

A maker and designer by training, Tasman uses his design practice to support people to creatively build social movements, promoting social justice by collaboration with communities to evolve the social and physical structures that shape our lives.

Working within the Fire to Flourish program, Tasman collaborates with bushfire affected communities to design initiatives that support holistic resilience, co-designs models for participatory granting, and supports communities to build networks of learning and collective action.

He’s known for forming deep connections with communities and forming partnerships of mutual learning, and strives to help describe and demonstrate an approach to resilience planning that’s holistic, community-led, and founded on deep story work.

Tasman combines his background in woodworking and social design practice, and is a firm believer in the transformative potential of collaborative making. He is an advocate for bringing more materiality to social innovation, using making as a way to understand, connect with, and reshape the world around us.

When he’s not at work, Tasman enjoys woodworking, surfing, hanging with friends and family, and dancing with the arts community in Marrickville.
