Leanne combines her analytical and creative skills to design and implement policy, strategy, and services for government, not-for-profit organisations and philanthropy. Her use of human-centred and co-design approaches enable people’s diverse experiences to influence public policy for better outcomes.
Leanne’s interests are broad and match her experience – 20+ years in social innovation, social policy and research, community development, service design and evaluation. Her work has focused on systems change in juvenile justice, policing, and homelessness and housing, community wellbeing, positive ageing and lived experience of disability.
Passionate about people’s health and access to safe, reliable housing, at TACSI, Leanne has formed strong partnerships and leads teams and projects to take a systemic approach to building solutions in these areas.
Leanne is a published author, including works for Routledge, New York, The Alternative Law Journal, Australia and TACSI. At TACSI, Leanne most recently led design research and strategy for the Future of Home, a networked approach to evolving Australia’s home and housing system for better ways to live.
Previously, she led the development of a systemic approach to understanding state health needs to inform a philanthropic funding approach and the development of Our Town, a place-based, community-led initiative in regional South Australia.
Outside work at TACSI, Leanne uses photography as a subtle, yet powerful storyteller for working with people and communities to collectively understand and share experiences of loss, trauma and resilience.
