Carolyn has led Australia’s national centre for social innovation since 2012. During her tenure, TACSI has partnered with communities, organisations and philanthropists across Australia and the globe to tackle the biggest social challenges of our time.
“Leading TACSI as CEO for 11 years has been an enormous privilege,” said Carolyn. “This has been a very tough decision to make but I know I’m leaving TACSI in the hands of an incredible, united and passionate team. This includes all our inspirational partners and exceptional communities that we work with all over the country who are integral in continuing to grow TACSI’s impact nationally and internationally
“TACSI is currently undergoing a strategy refresh, building upon our strengths and learning, while making space for new energy and ideas for the future. This feels like a natural inflection point for me to pass the baton, and I’m pleased that Melanie Rayment, who has been Acting CEO since December, will continue to support the leadership of TACSI as Acting CEO.”
TACSI Chair David Knox said, “We are enormously grateful for Carolyn’s leadership for the past 11 years. Her commitment, drive and passion for social justice have led TACSI to become one of Australia's driving forces for change at both a national systemic and policy level.
“Now more than ever, TACSI has an important mission: To bring people, communities and organisations together to collectively tackle our toughest social challenges and build the futures all Australians want. Spurred on with ongoing drive and passion, we will enter a new era at TACSI, as we continue to build the field for social innovation to deliver better lives and a better future for all Australians.”
Carolyn is currently on sabbatical as part of the Social Impact Leadership Australia Program – a national program designed for CEOs of for-purpose organisations – with the aim to build systems-wide capacity.
