Our ideas for realising the ambition of the NDIS

As implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and its cost-effectiveness comes under increased scrutiny, we put forward our ideas in 2017 about how we could realise the NDIS ambition and control costs in the long run.

In 2017, TACSI and The Difference Incubator (TDi) worked with 18 service providers to identify what it would take to be viable under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and deliver on the ambition of the NDIS for people with a disability.

The report contains recommendations for funders of capability building as well as resources for providers.

The challenge for 2018 and beyond will be to build communities for change around these areas to ensure bold ideas that are created can, and are, implemented successfully.

Read ‘NDIS Readiness and Beyond’, our report that explores designing new NDIS readiness supports with and for providers to deliver on the ambition of the NDIS

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians and Owners of the lands in which we work and live on across Australia. We pay our respects to Elders of the past, present and emerging. We are committed to collaboration that furthers self-determination and creates a better future for all. At TACSI, diversity and inclusion is more than a statement; equality and accessibility are guiding principles embedded in everything we do. We strongly believe that it’s the collective sum of all our communities differences, life experiences, and knowledge that enables both ourselves and our partners to come together to tackle complex social issues. That’s why we’re committed to having a diverse team made up of people with diverse skills from all backgrounds, including First Nations peoples, LGBTIQ+, mature-age people, and people with visible and non-visible disabilities, regardless of sex, sexuality or gender identity.
